The final day of the Baja "Russia – Northern Forest 2010" started. Half of the rally passed but the struggle is still strong. By the results of the first SS the leaders changed in all categories!

The road is still full of difficulties. Riccardo Garosci had problems with his gear box and he had to drive with flash lights to the finish. Having started before him Artem Varentsov lost much time as well. And Balasz Szalay had to slow. The crews of Alexey Cherkesov and Arthur Murashkin rolled over and Evgeny Pavlov's UAZ veered across the road and it needed to be pulled out with a tractor.

The battle between leaders in the FIA International Cup draws a lot of interest. At CP1 the leader of the rally Krzystof Holowczyc and the last year winner of the Baja Boris Gadasin finished with the same time – 7 minutes 49 seconds. However, at CP2 the Russian driver was 1 minute behind of the Polish driver. The reason of it was slipping off to a snowdrift.

But even such problems made possible for Gadasin to finish - he managed to cover lost time and finished 2d, 30 seconds behind of the SS leader Krzystof Holowczyc.

By the SS results Boris Gadasin took 3d place in the FIA International Cup followed by Alexander Mironenko and Yaroslav Solovjev. Alexander Zheludov was 2d with 7 minute advantage over Gadasin.

In Group T2 the leader has changed. The family crew of Viktor and Anatoly Volikov won and took 1st position! And the yesterday's leader Alexey Yaskov dropped back to 3d place. And only Alexander Oleynikov kept his second position. The Portuguese Nuno Matos kept his 4th place as well and which is a very respectable position for his first event on snow and ice surface.

The Top 3 in the National category has also changed. Having had technical problems yesterday Benjamin Dzhepaev got a "present" today from two competitiors (Evgeny Pavlov and Sergey Volkov). He lifted 3 place.

The situation has also changed in the Russian and Latvian Championships. Boris Gadasin is now in 2d place pushing Alexander Mironenko down to 3d in the Russian Championship. As for the Latvian one Aldis Vilcãns is now behind Bogdan Novitsky and Viktor Volikov.
